Janet L. Beck, 81, of Decatur, IL passed away at 9:07 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 7, 2010) at Lincoln Manor.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 18, 2010) at the First Presbyterian Church, 204 W. Prairie Ave. Decatur, IL. Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Macon County Conservation District, 3939 Nearing Lane Decatur, IL 62521 or the Northeast Community Fund, 825 N. Water St. Decatur, IL 62523. Janet was born on May 28, 1929 in Janesville, WI to Frank and Blanche (McMillan) Warner. She grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from Mauston (WI) High School in 1947. She married Edward A. Beck on August 2, 1952 in Milton, WI and they moved to Decatur, IL in 1958 from Wilmington, DE.

Janet was a member and former elder of First Presbyterian Church in Decatur. Other memberships include League of Women Voters, Decatur Audubon Society, Allstates, Club Continental, and Juneau County (WI) Historical Society.

Surviving are her husband: Edward A. Beck of Decatur, IL; son: Michael Beck of Sullivan, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Joan, and two daughters: Jennifer and Kate.

Dear Ed and son , Michael:

We are so sorry to hear of Janets passing.  We will miss her cherry greetings and conversations as she takes her daily walks.
We will not be able to attend her memorial services as we will be out of State.
